As promised an updated piccy !?
as you can tell we are still not standing ? the brother is now twice the size and running round like a nutter !?
but we are eating and bunny hopping around ? so the mini-pig is looking ok and is 5 weeks old now ! i will have to take the brother away as he keeps nudging the mini-pig out of the way ?!
but apart from having its bones set at bizzar angles, it seems ok and happy as can be expected ?
does any one have any idea what this poor baby will be like as an adult ? and is it a good quality of life for the little mini-pig ?

oooh no - poor pigger!
Is it just some sort of twisted bone structure?
I have a pig at the farm who was squished in the womb and her front legs are crooked, she is now an adult and quite small but she manages just fine. Dont think her legs are as badly twisted tho...I have no idea wether this would cause pain or not
they are both beautiful though! .x _________________ CAVY LOVER

Bless him he's made it:) If it was anything more sinister he would have passed away as a baby, so it seems he just has crooked bones/ligaments and will be that way forever now.
Watch him for sore patches, bumblefoot and signs of pain. When he gets old he will probably have arthritis and stiffness and if he was mine I wouldnt then leave him unheated through winter but that can all wait til when and if you need to deal with it sometime in the future.
Glad to see he has grown and fought like a little trooper!
So whats his name? |

how is your little piggie doing ?
you could also try filling up a sink, with luke warm water , just enough so that piggie can keep head above ( of course with your hand holding him/ her) let them " doggie paddle" the warm water should help the muscles relax, sort of work out .. with out too much pain .
Just like they do with us " with warm water swimming " .
who knows it might just help .

Ahr thanks Gwynny but im afraid she gave up only a few days ago !?
she was finding it quite hard to get about being that most of her joints where seazing up ? and although her mum did a wonderful job of looking after her and keeping her warm ? she was just unable to move and get to her food ?
i am very pleased she lived so long with such a bad disablity ? but she was so cute and sweet, i got kind of a attached to her quite alot !
even if when she ran she looked like a toy car with pear shaped wheels going along the floor ? hehehhehe
but thanks for all of your ideas i will bare them in mind in case any thing like that might happen again ? (even though its the first time in 22 years that ive seen it ? heheheh) _________________ Hugging a Himalayan a day, Keeps the Doctor away !!
