|

Please help. I have 4 Guinea Pigs. I am considering showing my male Guinea named Sprite, he has a pure White shorthaired coat with a beautiful longhaired behind with black ears and feet, but I don't know wat breed he is, as his mom Sparky (who is brown) was bought in a pet shop and was already pregnant. I am even unsure about wat breed she is. Can someone please help me find out wat breed of guinea pigs I have? |

Here you go ive added all your piccys together so everyone else can have a guess as more heads are better than one ? heheheh
Vi is right - Sprite (son) is a Himalayan that has no smut ? also he could have some sheltie in him ? heheheh
Sparky (Mum) i would say is a Agouti and i think she would be a lemon agouti ? but i get the colours mixed up on them sometimes ? hehhe
Poppy (Daughter) i would say is a possible undermarked harliquin ?
they are all pets and what lovely size they are ? its a shame you dont know who the dad was ?
i think they are cute and i hope that you are having fun with them ?
i hope i was of some help ? heheheh _________________ Hugging a Himalayan a day, Keeps the Doctor away !!

Thank you very much for putting the pictures on for me, I don't seem to have the facilities or brains to do it myself.
I am currently researching the breeds you have named.
They ARE beautiful pets.
The Brother and Sister are 4 months old and mum is, well we have had her and our English Crested (Cinnemon) for 6 months now but they must be 8 months old.
Can you give me some of your advise?
Do you think that Sprite could be a show Guinea? |

heheheheh if you send me the picture of your other piggy i would gladly post it on her for you ?
i would guess Sparky (mum) gave birth around the end of October come November ?
there for she roughly got pregnant in the August ?
i would have said she had to have been at least 4 months old to be pregnant which would make her birthday roughly April (2006) or before ?
which would make her 10 or months old
as although they can get pregnant at such a young age, i wouldnt recomend it ?! for the benifit and growth of the sow if you know what i mean ?
hehehehe
unfortunatly sprite is not up to show standard ?
on my website there is a Himalayan Standard if thats any help ?
http://www.jencamcavies.co.uk/himalayanstandard.htm
but they are all great to show in the Pet section !
all your have to do is pamper them with a little bath hehehheheh _________________ Hugging a Himalayan a day, Keeps the Doctor away !!

My partner and I bought Sparky and Cinnemon August 11th 2006 from Pets at home. Sparky gave birth to Sprite and Poppy October 10th 12.30pm 2006.
Because I was unsure about what breed they were, I was thinking of putting him in a Pet show and not as a purebred.
He is soooooo hansom and his temperment is amazing,
compared to his sister Poppy, she hates to be held, shes the first for food and for alerting to the others wen the fridge is open! and the first to lead mum and auntie exploring |

i wish i knew the next time i was judging because i would tell you to bring them along ? where do you live ?? (if you dont mind me asking ?)
so this is Cinnemon ? what a hansom boy ! i can see why you liked him !
but it always makes me laugh when the babies pop out and dont look like there parents ! hehehehhe

I live in Epsom Surrey.
Cinnemon is female
I have 3 females and one male
They get regular excersie, everyday, so I put their weight on the breed that they are.
They keep me company while I'm off sick from work.
I have my second operation on March 14th for my left knee, it seems I was born with a deformaty inside my knee caps, which I knew nothing about until I collapsed at a bus stop in 2005 and I've been off work ever since.
My Guinea's are very spoilt but luckly I don't think they act it?

No my Cinnemon has never been vialated. Unfortunatly Sparky was the pregnant one, wen we bought her.
Cinnemon hasn't had any babies, even though I'm beginning to wish that she could have a litter.
She is sooooo tame she loves having cuddles (all the time) and I beleive that she could be a great mum. But my partner doesn't want any more knowing that Sparky's pregnancy was an accident.
Plus we don't have room. We live in a one bedroom flat!
As you can see in one of the piccy's I sent you Cinnemon has her own place on me. She loves lying across my chest and she falls asleep. |

I've never been, I don't know where abouts or when the Cavy club is?
What sort of thing do you carry your Guinea's in to take to shows? |
