A while ago we took in 9 rescues, all of the sows, except one have been rehomed. The last little sow we kept back because she wasnt putting on the weight and doing as well as the others. It now appears that she has got bright orange urine. Anyone got any ideas? I have looked it up on the net and come up with nothing. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/chivecavies

I did wonder if it could be related to her kidneys or something, especially as she hasnt done as well as the other rescues. Apart from the sow we lost right at the beginning, this little one is the last sow. Will take some more pics of her soon, she looks so small and feeble still. Joined: 15 Dec 2006 Posts: 218 Location: Buckinghamshire	Posted: Thu Apr 12, 2007 3:20 pm    Post subject: The thing with wee is that it changes colour in just a few minutes after its hit the open air, so to speak, so when you find it on bedding it can be all kinds of odd colours, orange, pink, white, even rusty brown. Sometimes it makes you think its blood, but its not. Depending on what they ate last, and how the wee reacts with the bedding, it will go a funny colour. Only believe there is blood in wee if you see real blood immediatley after the pig has pee'd, and you'd know because she'd be squeaking and in pain when weeing. Try some barley in her feed to put weight on, its working a treat with all my oldies
