What do you do with your waste from cleaning out hutches? Do you think it will be harder to get rid of waste with all the changes in rubbish collection probably coming into action, ie 1 collection in 2 weeks? _________________

I put out about eight bags a week so a collection every two weeks will be a pain in the butt! The smell will just be gross when we have a heatwave! I bet we don't get a reduction in council tax for the pleasure either! I would have to take it to the tip and luckily there is one just round the corner.... just hope they don't start charging by weight for getting rid of it, that really would just about stitch us all up wouldn't it! _________________

Our local tip wont take household waste, we have to buy biodegradable garden waste bags and we put the hay and sawdust in those and the wet soggy newspaper in the black bin bags. garden waste collection is once a fortnight and i usually put out about 25 bags, looks lovely outside my house (everyone else down our street puts out about 3)

Our area was one of the first to try out those green bins for food waste and black bins for dry waste. They get emptied rotationally so each one every two weeks. It is gross, you WILL get maggots, and it DOES smell. They tell you it won't but it will.
Once a week I am able to get a full cleanout done where the whole lot goes in the green bin, which fills it right up. It has to sit there all thr next week til its emptied.
Other than that I take all the bags up the tip. That's been fine, excpet last month the blokes up the tip stopped me, inspected the bags and told me I have to pay £30 each time to dump 'potentially toxic' waste. I was like ??! I can't afford that! Luckily a bit of eyelid batting and helpless female routine helped, they just said, go on, chuck it in quick before anyone sees.
But still, toxic? I think not. Its hay and some poos made out of grass. |

We have the same system with the bins here in the Netherlands , some parts they have their bin weight , lucky where i live it is not in forcement yet
same with local dump ground from the council, we can some time bring it , but that are now getting very fussy
we have two Green bins for our kitchen waste , garden , piggie , they are quite small , and i can use my neighbours . i can get all of it in just .
, yessssssssss MAGGOTS brrrrrrrrr last year was awful due to our exstream heat of 34 some days .. no matter what you do you will get them with very hot weather ..
everyone here has made a complaint to the council offices and ask if they could not go back to the old system in the very hot summer months , but NOOO ...
this way was fine !!!!!!
good luck everyone
